July 18 -First Day

 Let's start our day right away with the first lesson at the most prestigious university in Dublin, the Trinity College.

Here is the entrance portal to the university campus. We are so thrilled!



This structure is ancient with large lawn parks, but it has also been implemented with modern pavilions




Straight to the goal!🏃🏃🏃


We are now entering a beautiful auditorium hall, the lesson has already begun, we only rested 3 and a half hours tonight: we' ll do our best to focus!😝





The prof introduces the presentation of the course and explains how our lessons are going to be organized.
       












And since we are in Gaelic' s homeland, we have to learn some extra content: the last slide says "thank you"!

This afternoon the first activity consists in following a map of indications that will guide us through some of the most evocative corners of Dublin. We split in different groups, in order to promote socialization.
My group' s name is Club Orange.

James Joyce looks at us satisfied - given the literary heritage he has left us, he has very good reasons, isn' t it?

My group mates are trying to figure out where to go.. but it's so hard to think whit this roasting heat. Dublin where are your 16°?🥵


Dublin is so mesmerizing, thanks to google map today we learned many interesting things about the city and its monuments 😍

      Si, è veramente enorme. Centinaia di aule dove lavorare e anche divanetti o tavoli per la conversazione o i progetti e i lavori di gruppo

In this page I collected several picture showing different moments of our lessons.   This one is Pat, our super teacher, showing us how the educational irish system works.   He is so committed we can't help but follow his explanation! The next pictures are bit more... lively. After a very interesting lesson about Celtics Myths and Legends, we moved to action. The aim was to reproduce through acting some of the most iconic and famous scenes from Celtic Myths.   As always, we couldn' t hold ourselves from transposing  the task to the Myths of our counties. Can you  tell how excited how was from that sparkly glance on my face? We Italians picked the legend of Romolo and Remo. Here I am, stabbing my own brother to death!  With a total of 60 hours, our educational journey included everything: grammar, pronunciation, formal english and irish slang vocabulary, history, geography and culture of Ireland and so much more. What' s the Famine?

After crossing the Eden Quay, I keep walking next to the riverfront, admiring the beauty of am walking on the Eden Quay, admiring the beauty of Liffey River, when I stumble across these characters. Who are they? "A famine is a widespread scarcity of food, caused by several factors including war, natural disasters, crop failure, population imbalance, widespread poverty, an economic catastrophe or government policies" The Irish Potato Famine, also known as  the Great Hunger , began in 1845 when   a  disease called late blight destroyed the leaves and edible roots of the potato plants (the only source of nourishment for most of irish population) in successive years from 1845 to 1849.  The extreme hunger caused people to go insane, and  history has documented many cases of cannibalism during famine!
